Our Mission

Tended reimagines how families and caregivers come together, with thoughtful placement, clear expectations, and conscious communication — so care relationships can begin well and last.

The Heart Behind Tended

Tended was created from lived experience as a mother of two, a longtime technology leader, a yoga and mindfulness teacher, and someone who has personally navigated the responsibility of hiring care.

When my first daughter was born in 2020, I was navigating postpartum anxiety during a time when the world itself felt uncertain. Hiring a caregiver for the first time felt deeply personal, but there was no clear roadmap for doing it well. With the help of a communication coach and a trusted referral to the caregiver who would become part of our family’s foundation, I saw how different this experience could be when it was approached with care from the very beginning.

Since then, I’ve seen how often care relationships struggle for preventable reasons. Families are overwhelmed. Caregivers are stepping into intimate, high-responsibility roles. And both sides are often expected to figure it out as they go.

Tended exists to change that.

I created Tended to take the guesswork out of a process that has historically been informal, unclear, and far too important to leave unsupported. Families should not have to navigate hiring and onboarding alone. Caregivers should not have to enter homes without shared expectations.

Before creating Tended, I spent nearly two decades helping high-growth technology companies turn new ideas into trusted systems people could use. My training in yoga and mindfulness shaped another part of me: how I listen, how I notice dynamics, and how I understand the conditions that help relationships feel steady.

Tended brings those parts of my life together. It is a more modern model for caregiver placement — one that combines discernment, structure, and human care without losing the warmth that makes this work so personal.

This isn’t just childcare. It’s relational care, for our children, our homes, and the communities we’re shaping together.

Our Values

Respect

We honor the humanity, labor, and lived experience of every family and caregiver.

Integrity

We believe care relationships require honesty, transparency, and follow-through from the beginning.

Communication

We help families and caregivers say the important things early, clearly, and with care.

We support working relationships built to last - with clear expectations, fair pay, and sustainable rhythms.

Community

We believe great villages aren’t just built — they’re tended, together.

The Tended Approach

Trusted Referrals

Tended grows through trusted introductions from families and caregivers who value respectful, aligned care relationships. Participation begins through referral or thoughtful review, not open enrollment.

Values-Based Matching

We look beyond availability to understand family rhythms, communication style, care philosophy, and long-term fit.

Structure From the Start

Tended supports families and caregivers through the moments that shape a placement: interviews, trials, onboarding, expectation-setting, and early communication.

The Fairness Standard

We advocate for professional care practices that support sustainable relationships, including transparent pay, guaranteed hours, respectful communication, and clear responsibilities.
