Our Mission
Tended reimagines how families and caregivers come together through thoughtful placement, clear expectations, and conscious communication — supporting homes, children, and caregivers in building relationships that last.
The Heart Behind Tended
Tended was created from lived experience as a parent, caregiver, employer, and someone who believes in the power of aligned connection within a home.
When my first daughter was born in 2020, I was navigating postpartum anxiety during a time when the world itself was uncertain and closed. Hiring a caregiver for the first time felt enormous, and there was no roadmap for doing it thoughtfully. With the support of a communication coach and a trusted referral to an experienced caregiver who helped steady our family during that transition, I saw what becomes possible when families and caregivers begin with clarity, trust, and shared expectations. That experience helped shape what Tended is today.
I’ve seen how hard it can be for families to find care that fits their values and rhythms. I’ve seen caregivers carrying enormous responsibility while rarely receiving the clarity or respect they deserve. And I’ve seen relationships fracture not from lack of love, but from the absence of shared expectations and communication.
Tended exists to change that.
Tended is designed as a referral-based placement collective, where families and caregivers join through thoughtful introduction and shared expectations rather than volume matching.
Before creating Tended, I spent nearly two decades helping high-growth technology companies in Silicon Valley scale new ideas into real-world systems people could trust and use. That experience shaped how I approached this work: thoughtfully and intentionally, with the belief that better structure creates stronger relationships people can rely on.
We’re building a more intentional model of caregiver placement, one where families and caregivers form grounded, enduring partnerships through thoughtful matching, clear agreements, and compassionate communication support, all within a trusted, referral-based network.
This isn’t just childcare. It’s relational care, for our children, our homes, and the communities we’re shaping together.

The Tended Approach
TRUSTED REFERRALS
Tended grows through thoughtful referrals from families and caregivers who value respectful, aligned relationships. Participation begins through a trusted introduction and shared expectations rather than open enrollment.
VALUES - BASED MATCHING
We don’t match based on availability alone. We consider communication style, values, rhythms, expectations, and long-term compatibility to support thoughtful, lasting placements.
CLARITY FROM THE START
Tended helps families and caregivers begin working together with greater clarity, structure, and mutual understanding through guided conversations, practical tools, and thoughtful expectation-setting from the beginning.
COMMUNICATION IS THE FOUNDATION
Strong placements are built through clear communication, healthy boundaries, mutual respect, and proactive expectation-setting. Tended provides structured support around interviewing, onboarding, transitions, early check-ins, and difficult conversations so families and caregivers can build strong working relationships from the start.
THE FAIRNESS STANDARD
We advocate for professional care practices that support both families and caregivers, including transparent pay, guaranteed hours, respectful communication, and sustainable long-term working relationships.
A GROWING COLLECTIVE
Tended begins with thoughtful nanny placement and continues to grow as a trusted ecosystem of support, education, communication resources, and modern family-care infrastructure.
Apply to Tended
We are currently welcoming a limited number of families and caregivers to the Tended placement collective.
Participation begins through a trusted referral, and each profile is thoughtfully reviewed before introductions begin.
Families and caregivers also participate in a short introduction call so we can better understand goals, expectations, and timing before sharing introductions.
If you’re looking for a more intentional approach to caregiver relationships, we invite you to apply.
