Investment & How it Works

For Families

  • Personalized family consultation, role development & values-based matching

  • Thoughtful caregiver search through Tended’s trusted network and targeted recruiting

  • Personal caregiver interviews & Tended family fit assessment

  • TrustLine, CPR & professional reference screening

  • Curated caregiver introductions

  • Interview, paid trial & onboarding guidance

  • Communication & expectation-setting support

  • Post-Placement Support following a successful Tended placement

A non-refundable $500 Family Consultation & Engagement Fee is required to begin. This includes a deeper family consultation, role refinement, compensation guidance, creation of your Family Role Profile, and the initial work required to thoughtfully begin your search.

Tended’s placement fee is 10% of the caregiver’s projected first-year gross wages, calculated based on the agreed-upon hourly rate and regular weekly schedule.

Minimum placement fee: $5,000

The final placement fee is determined once both sides agree to move forward and confirm the role’s hourly rate and regular weekly schedule.

Placement payment is due within 3 business days of mutual agreement to move forward, regardless of the caregiver’s official start date.

For Caregivers

Caregivers never pay placement fees.

Caregivers begin by completing a Tended profile and introductory conversation. If invited to join the Tended Caregiver Collective, we'll thoughtfully match you with families whose needs, values, and expectations align with your experience.

California nanny placements require current TrustLine registration. Caregivers are responsible for any required TrustLine application, Live Scan, and CPR certification costs unless otherwise agreed in writing by Tended.

Tended helps exceptional caregivers be seen clearly, prepared thoughtfully, and introduced to families who value professionalism, kindness, and long-term partnership.

Support Beyond the Match

Tended is built to support care relationships, not just placements.

Some families and caregivers benefit from additional guidance as a working relationship begins or evolves. Tended offers communication support, practical resources, and relationship-centered guidance to help both sides navigate expectations with more confidence.

Support may include:

  • Communication coaching

  • Check-in or transition support

  • Mediation when challenges arise

  • Practical tools for clearer expectations

These services and resources are available when needed and are not required as part of the placement process.
