Tended LLC (“Tended,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) respects your privacy and is committed to handling personal information thoughtfully and responsibly.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect personal information when you visit our website, submit a questionnaire or other form, inquire about or participate in Tended’s services, communicate with us, or otherwise interact with Tended.
1. Information We Collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with Tended.
Information You Provide to Us
Contact information, such as your name, email address, phone number, location, and preferred method of communication.
Family and household information, such as household composition, children’s ages, childcare needs, schedules, role expectations, compensation, parenting or caregiving preferences, household responsibilities, and other information relevant to defining a caregiver role or supporting a placement.
Child and care-related information, which may include information a parent or guardian chooses to provide about a child’s medical, developmental, behavioral, emotional, sensory, or neurodivergent needs; accommodations or support needs; relevant behaviors or safety considerations; and other information reasonably relevant to providing safe and thoughtful placement services.
Caregiver information, such as employment and childcare experience, education, availability, compensation expectations, role preferences, résumé information, professional references, certifications, CPR status, TrustLine status, driving information, and information relevant to evaluating qualifications and potential family fit.
Placement and search information, such as interview and trial information, candidate feedback, hiring decisions, employment terms, placement status, onboarding information, and communications relating to a search or placement.
Coaching and support information, including information voluntarily shared during coaching, mediation, communication support, or other advisory services.
Communications, including information you provide through email, text messages, phone calls, questionnaires, forms, meetings, or other communications with Tended.
Please do not submit Social Security numbers, financial account credentials, full payment-card information, or other highly sensitive identifying or financial information through Tended questionnaires or general website forms unless Tended specifically provides an appropriate method for doing so.
Information Collected Automatically
When you visit our website, Squarespace and related technologies may automatically collect certain technical and usage information, such as your IP address, browser or device information, pages visited, referring website or source, dates and times of visits, and information about how visitors interact with the website.
Squarespace may use cookies and similar technologies to operate the website and provide website analytics.
Tended does not currently use Google Analytics, Meta Pixel, or similar advertising pixels for behavioral advertising.
2. How We Use Information
We may use personal information to:
respond to inquiries and communicate with you;
review and understand a family’s childcare needs;
evaluate caregiver experience, qualifications, preferences, and availability;
develop and refine caregiver roles;
evaluate potential alignment between families and caregivers;
facilitate caregiver introductions, interviews, and paid trials;
coordinate references, TrustLine status, certifications, screening, or other placement-related information;
support hiring, onboarding, and placements;
provide coaching, mediation, communication support, or other services;
process and maintain records relating to payments;
maintain appropriate business, placement, and service records;
address safety concerns or disputes;
protect Tended, families, caregivers, children, and others;
operate, maintain, understand, and improve our website and services;
comply with legal obligations and enforce applicable agreements; and
otherwise operate Tended’s business.
We do not sell personal information.
3. How Information May Be Shared
Tended shares personal information only when reasonably necessary to operate our business, provide services, facilitate a potential placement, protect people or Tended, or comply with law.
Families and Caregivers
When facilitating a potential placement, Tended may share relevant information between families and caregivers so that each can evaluate potential fit.
The information shared depends on the stage of the process and may include experience, qualifications, role details, schedules, compensation, caregiving preferences, relevant family or child needs, references, screening or certification status, and contact information.
Tended aims to share information that is reasonably relevant to evaluating and facilitating the potential working relationship.
Service Providers
We may provide information to third parties that help us operate Tended or deliver services, including:
website hosting and technology providers;
form and questionnaire providers;
payment processors;
screening and verification providers;
scheduling and communication providers;
professional advisers and contractors; and
other service providers reasonably necessary to operate Tended.
These providers may process information according to their own privacy policies, contractual obligations, or applicable law.
Tended currently uses Squarespace to operate its website, Tally for certain questionnaires and forms, and Stripe for payment processing.
Payment-card information submitted through Stripe is processed by Stripe. Tended does not receive or store full payment-card numbers through its own website systems.
Legal, Safety, and Business Purposes
Tended may disclose information when reasonably necessary to comply with law or legal process; respond to lawful government requests; investigate or address suspected fraud, unlawful conduct, or safety concerns; protect the rights, safety, or property of Tended or others; enforce our agreements; or establish, exercise, or defend legal claims.
Information may also be transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, sale of assets, or similar business transaction involving Tended, subject to applicable law.
4. Information About Children
Tended provides services involving childcare and therefore receives information about children from parents, guardians, and, in some circumstances, caregivers.
This information may include a child’s age, routines, interests, care needs, medical or developmental considerations, behavioral or emotional needs, accommodations, and relevant safety information.
Tended uses this information only as reasonably necessary to understand a family’s needs, evaluate potential caregiver alignment, facilitate placement services, support an existing placement, address safety concerns, or otherwise provide requested services.
Tended’s website and services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly solicit or collect personal information directly from children under 13 through our website.
If you believe a child has submitted personal information directly to Tended without appropriate parental or guardian involvement, please contact us.
5. Caregiver Screening and Verification
Tended may collect or receive information relating to caregiver references, certifications, TrustLine status, background screening, driving qualifications, or other professional verification.
Some screening and verification services are performed by government agencies or independent third-party providers. Those organizations may collect information directly from caregivers and maintain their own privacy practices.
Tended does not create or control government or third-party screening records and cannot guarantee their accuracy or completeness.
Where consent or authorization is legally required for a particular screening process, the applicable consent or authorization will be obtained.
6. Payments
Payments for Tended services may be processed through third-party payment processors such as Stripe.
Payment processors may collect payment-card details, billing information, transaction information, and other information necessary to process a payment. Their handling of that information is governed by their own terms and privacy practices.
Tended may retain records of payments and transactions for business, accounting, tax, dispute-resolution, and legal purposes, but does not store full payment-card numbers on its own website systems.
7. Coaching, Mediation, and Other Support
Information voluntarily shared during coaching, mediation, or other communication-support services may be sensitive or personal.
Tended uses and discloses this information only as reasonably necessary to provide the requested service, address relevant safety or legal concerns, or as otherwise described in this Privacy Policy.
Tended does not record coaching or facilitated conversations unless participants are informed and any legally required consent has been obtained.
8. Cookies and Website Analytics
Our website is hosted by Squarespace. Squarespace may use cookies and similar technologies that are necessary to operate and secure the website and may use analytics or performance technologies to help understand website traffic and usage.
Your browser or device may allow you to block, delete, or otherwise control cookies. Doing so may affect certain website functionality.
Some browsers offer a “Do Not Track” (“DNT”) setting. Because there is not a universally accepted standard for responding to DNT signals, our website may not respond to all DNT signals.
Tended does not currently use third-party advertising pixels such as Meta Pixel or Google advertising technologies to track visitors for targeted advertising.
Third parties that provide website functionality or services may collect information as described in their own privacy policies.
9. Data Retention
Tended retains personal information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes for which it was collected, including providing services, maintaining placement and business records, resolving disputes, addressing safety matters, enforcing agreements, and satisfying legal, accounting, tax, insurance, or other legitimate business obligations.
Retention periods may therefore vary depending on the type of information and the circumstances.
When information is no longer reasonably necessary, Tended may delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it as appropriate.
10. Data Security
Tended takes reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures intended to protect personal information.
We also use third-party service providers to host, process, or maintain information as part of operating Tended.
No method of electronic transmission or storage is completely secure, and Tended cannot guarantee absolute security.
11. Your Choices and Privacy Requests
You may contact Tended to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we maintain about you.
Certain requests may be subject to exceptions or limitations under applicable law or legitimate business requirements. For example, Tended may need to retain information relating to completed placements, payments, contractual obligations, disputes, safety matters, fraud prevention, or legal compliance.
